Wallace's rookie year was a standout season as he led all rookies in receiving yards, receptions, and touchdowns. He helped the Steelers win the Super Bowl XLIII in 2009 over the Arizona Cardinals. Wallace went on to play for the Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings, Baltimore Ravens, Philadelphia Eagles, and Buffalo Bills. He was an explosive receiver known for his speed and ability to make big plays. Wallace finished his NFL career with 538 receptions, 8,072 receiving yards, and 57 touchdowns.

Off the field, Wallace was known for his charitable efforts. He founded the Mike Wallace 4 Humanity Foundation, which aimed to provide resources and opportunities to underprivileged youth. Wallace was also open about his struggles with depression and dedicated himself to raising awareness and destigmatizing mental health issues. On April 7, 2019, Wallace passed away in a motorcycle accident at the age of 33, leaving behind a legacy that extended beyond his accomplishments on the football field.
