Priest Holmes is a retired professional American football player born on October 7, 1973, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He is recognized as one of the greatest running backs in NFL history. Holmes grew up in San Antonio, Texas, where he attended John Marshall High School, and later continued his education at the University of Texas at Austin. In 1997, Priest Holmes was signed by the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent. In his first two seasons with the Ravens, he caught the attention of the team and the league with his remarkable rushing and receiving abilities. Holmes became a starter in the 1999 season and broke the Ravens’ single-season rushing record with 1,008 yards. In 2001, he signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as a free agent, where he continued his outstanding performance leading the NFL in touchdowns in 2002 and 2003.
