Once Rice entered the NFL, he quickly established himself as one of the most talented running backs in the league. During his six-year career with the Ravens, Rice appeared in three Pro Bowls and was twice named a First-Team All-Pro. He helped lead the Ravens to a victory in Super Bowl XLVII, during which he rushed for 59 yards and scored a touchdown. Rice finished his career with 6,180 rushing yards and 37 touchdowns, as well as 369 receptions for 3,034 yards and six touchdowns.

Despite his successful career in the NFL, Rice's legacy is marred by a domestic violence incident in which he was caught on video punching his then-fiancée in an Atlantic City casino elevator in 2014. As a result of the incident, Rice was suspended indefinitely by the NFL and released by the Ravens. Though a Pennsylvania court later overturned the suspension, Rice never played another NFL game. Since then, Rice has advocated for domestic violence awareness and prevention, speaking publicly about his experience and supporting various organizations dedicated to the cause.
