Rob Ninkovich is a retired American football player who had a successful career in the National Football League (NFL). Born on February 1, 1984, in Blue Island, Illinois, Ninkovich grew up playing football and basketball in his hometown. He attended Lincoln-Way Central High School in New Lenox, Illinois, where he played football as a defensive end and quarterback. After graduation, Ninkovich accepted a scholarship to Purdue University, where he continued to play football as a defensive end and was named All-Big Ten Conference honorable mention in 2005. In 2006, Ninkovich was drafted in the fifth round of the NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints, where he mostly played on special teams in his first two seasons. Ninkovich was waived by the Saints in 2008 and picked up by the Miami Dolphins, where he finally had his breakthrough season in 2010, recording 39 tackles, a sack, and two interceptions. In 2009, he was traded to the New England Patriots, where he spent the rest of his career playing as a linebacker and defensive end. Ninkovich was a two-time team captain, won two Super Bowls with the Patriots, and was known for his versatility and work ethic on the field. He retired in 2017 with 460 career tackles, 46 sacks, and 5 interceptions.

Off the field, Ninkovich is actively involved in various charities, including the American Cancer Society, the Boys and Girls Club, and the Muscular Dystrophy Association. He has also transitioned into a career in broadcasting, working as a commentator for ESPN and NBC Sports Boston.
