Jones was drafted in the first round (seventh overall) of the 2000 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals. He played for several teams over the course of his 12-year NFL career, including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Chicago Bears, New York Jets, and Kansas City Chiefs. He was known for his hard-running style and durability, particularly during his time with the Jets, where he rushed for over 1,000 yards in three consecutive seasons (2007-2009).

Throughout his career, Jones amassed 10,591 rushing yards, 68 rushing touchdowns, and was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2008. He retired from the NFL in 2011 and has since pursued a successful career in acting and fitness coaching.
