Dave Keon is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player, who was born on March 22, 1940, in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec. He played center and spent his entire National Hockey League (NHL) career with the Toronto Maple Leafs between 1960 and 1975. Keon was a key member of the Maple Leafs’ 1960s Stanley Cup dynasty, as he helped them win four championships during that period. Keon began his NHL career by helping the Maple Leafs win the Stanley Cup as part of his rookie season in 1961-62. He was an elite center with a strong two-way game and a tenacious backchecking ability. His scoring ability, playmaking and penalty-killing skills also made him an asset to the team during that era.
