H.B. Blades was a former American football linebacker who played in the National Football League (NFL) for four seasons. He was born on September 30, 1984, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Blades went to Plantation High School, where he was a standout football player. After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh, Blades was drafted by the Washington Redskins in the sixth round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He spent his entire professional career with the Redskins, playing in 59 games and starting in nine. During his time with the team, he recorded 63 tackles, three sacks, and one interception. Blades was known for his tenacity on the field and his ability to make tackles in key situations. However, his career was cut short due to injuries, and he retired from professional football in 2011.
After retiring from football, Blades pursued a career in coaching. He started out as a graduate assistant for his alma mater, the University of Pittsburgh, and later became an assistant coach for the Akron Zips. In 2018, he was hired as a defensive quality control coach for the Seattle Seahawks.
