Born on February 11, 1984, in LeMoyne, Quebec, Talbot began his hockey career at a young age and went on to have a successful career in the National Hockey League (NHL). Talbot began his professional career with the Hull Olympiques of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). He was drafted 234th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the eighth round of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. After a few seasons in the Penguins’ minor league system, he earned a permanent spot on the team’s roster for the 2006-2007 season. He played an important role in the team’s Stanley Cup victory in 2009, scoring two goals in the deciding Game Seven against the Detroit Red Wings.
