Talbot began his professional career with the Hull Olympiques of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). He was drafted 234th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the eighth round of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. After a few seasons in the Penguins’ minor league system, he earned a permanent spot on the team’s roster for the 2006-2007 season. He played an important role in the team’s Stanley Cup victory in 2009, scoring two goals in the deciding Game Seven against the Detroit Red Wings. Talbot also played for the Philadelphia Flyers, Colorado Avalanche, and Boston Bruins during his NHL career.

Throughout his career, Talbot was known for his grit, determination, and work ethic. He was a versatile player who could play both center and wing and was often used on penalty kill and power play units. Additionally, he was an effective leader, serving as an alternate captain for the Flyers during the 2013-14 season.
