Mike Bossy is a retired Canadian ice hockey player, who is regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of the sport. Born on January 22, 1957, in Montreal, Quebec, Bossy grew up playing hockey in his neighborhood and went on to hone his skills in junior leagues. His remarkable talent on the ice led to his entry into the NHL in 1977 when he was drafted by the New York Islanders. From his very first season, Bossy was a force to be reckoned with, scoring an impressive 53 goals in 73 games, and helping the Islanders win their first Stanley Cup. More about Mike Bossy

During his short but illustrious career, which spanned 10 seasons from 1977 to 1987, Mike Bossy led the charge for the New York Islanders to win four consecutive Stanley Cup Championships from 1980 to 1983. He was the NHL's leading goal scorer in 1978, his rookie year, and continued to dominate the league through his consistency and reliability. In just 752 games played, Bossy scored an incredible 573 goals and 553 assists, earning him a spot in the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1991, his first year of eligibility.
