Bobrovsky's hockey career started in 2006 when he was drafted by the Metallurg Novokuznetsk in the Russian Hockey League (KHL). He played for Metallurg Novokuznetsk for two years before moving to the Russian team, Atlant Moscow Oblast. Bobrovsky's exceptional skills between the pipes led to him being named the KHL Rookie of the Year during the 2008-09 season. In 2010, the Philadelphia Flyers of the NHL signed him to a three-year entry-level contract, and he made his debut for the team in 2010-2011 season.
