Born on May 9th, 1965, in Cranbrook, British Columbia, Canada, Yzerman began playing hockey at a young age and quickly showed his talent on the ice. Off the ice, Yzerman was known for his leadership skills and dedication to the sport. He served as the captain of the Red Wings for over a decade and was considered a mentor to younger players on the team. After his retirement, Yzerman went on to become a successful executive in the NHL, serving as the general manager of the Tampa Bay Lightning and leading the team to a Stanley Cup championship in 2020.
