Ed Walsh was an American professional baseball player, born on May 14, 1881, in Plains Township, Pennsylvania. He was a right-handed pitcher during his playing days and was widely regarded as one of the greatest pitchers of his time. His professional baseball career began in 1904, with the Chicago White Sox, where he played until 1916. He then played for the Boston Braves, where he called it a day in 1917.
