Allison had his breakthrough season in 1991 when he won a career-high five races, including the Daytona 500, and finished in the top five 18 times. He was one of the most dominant drivers of that season and finished second in the championship standings behind Dale Earnhardt. He followed this up with another successful season in 1992, where he won three races and finished fourth in the championship standings. However, his career was cut short when he died in a helicopter crash on July 13, 1993, at the age of 32.

Despite his short career, Davey Allison left a lasting legacy in NASCAR. He won a total of 19 Cup Series races, and his accomplishments earned him a spot in the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2019. Allison was a fierce competitor who had a natural talent for racing, and his influence on the sport continues to this day. He will always be remembered as a true legend of NASCAR and a driver who left an indelible mark on the sport. Read even more about Davey Allison at Wikipedia
