Leonard Nimoy was an American actor, film director, poet, singer, and photographer born on March 26, 1931, in Boston, Massachusetts. Nimoy began his acting career in the 1950s with a series of small roles in B-movies before earning his breakthrough role as Mr. Spock in the 1960s television series, "Star Trek". Nimoy then took the role to the big screen with six "Star Trek" feature films from 1979 to 1991. Nimoy also lent his voice to many animated "Star Trek" projects, including the 1973 series "Star Trek: The Animated Series", where he not only voiced Mr. Spock but also served as a writer and producer. Apart from his "Star Trek" fame, Nimoy acted in numerous other films, TV shows, and theater productions. In the 1970s, he starred in films such as "The Invasion of the Body Snatchers," "Assault on the Wayne," and "The Ultimate Warrior." He lent his voice to Galvatron in 1986's "Transformers: The Movie." Nimoy appeared in television shows, including "Mission Impossible," "Fringe," and "The Outer Limits." In 1990, Nimoy directed "Three Men and a Baby"; the film starring Tom Selleck and Steve Guttenberg was a box office hit. In 1991, he directed "Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country."

Leonard Nimoy’s artistic talent was not just limited to acting and directing. He also released several collections of poetry and music albums. He also pursued photography and has published several photographic books. He continued to be a prolific actor, director, and artist until his death on February 27, 2015. To honor his contributions to the film industry and science fiction genre, many tributes and dedications have been made to Leonard Nimoy worldwide.
