Herman quickly became known for his ability to hit doubles and triples, and his high batting average earned him the nickname "Babe." He played with the Brooklyn team for seven seasons, during which he led the National League in doubles twice, and in triples and RBIs once each. In 1932, he was traded to the Cincinnati Reds, where he continued to excel on the field. He played for several other teams before retiring in 1945.

Herman's career ended with a .324 batting average and 181 home runs, making him one of the top players of his time. He was known for his strong arm and speed, and his talent on the field earned him a place in the Hall of Fame in 1975. Despite his success, Herman's career was marred by controversy over his tendency to showboat and make careless errors in the field. Nevertheless, he remains an important figure in baseball history and a beloved player among fans. Read even more about Babe Herman at Wikipedia
