Davey Johnson had a remarkable career as a baseball player and coach. He was born on January 30, 1943, in Orlando, Florida. In 1963, he was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles as a second baseman. After five years in the minors, he made it to the major league and became one of the key players for the team. In 1973, Johnson was traded to the Atlanta Braves, where he continued to excel as a player. He played for several other teams before retiring as a player in 1978, after 13 seasons in the majors.
