Ferguson Jenkins is a former Canadian professional baseball player who was born on December 13, 1942, in Chatham, Ontario. Jenkins was a talented athlete who excelled at multiple sports, but he ultimately decided to pursue baseball as his career. Jenkins signed with the Philadelphia Phillies in 1962 after playing in the minor leagues for a season.
