Grady Hatton was an American professional baseball player who was born on October 7, 1922, in Beaumont, Texas. He was a third baseman, shortstop, and second baseman in Major League Baseball (MLB). Hatton started his baseball career when he joined the West End High School baseball team, where he was first used as a pitcher before becoming a full-time infielder. Grady Hatton made his Major League Baseball debut on September 22, 1946, for the Cincinnati Reds. He played nine seasons in MLB (1946-1954), spending time with the Cincinnati Reds, Boston Red Sox, St. Louis Browns, Chicago White Sox, and Baltimore Orioles. Hatton was named an All-Star in 1952 while playing for the Boston Red Sox. In 878 career games, he recorded a .254 batting average, 34 home runs, and 367 RBIs.
