Grant Jackson was a professional baseball player who played as a pitcher in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1965 to 1982. He was born on September 28, 1942, in Fostoria, Ohio, and attended Bowling Green State University. Jackson began his MLB career with the Philadelphia Phillies in 1965 and played for several other teams throughout his career, including the Baltimore Orioles, Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Yankees, Montreal Expos, and Kansas City Royals. He played in two World Series, winning the championship with the Pirates in 1979. Jackson was also a part of the 1971 Orioles team that made it to the World Series but lost to the Pirates in seven games. Over the course of his career, Jackson had a record of 86 wins and 75 losses, with a 3.46 earned run average (ERA) and 79 saves.

After retiring from baseball in 1982, Jackson became a pitching coach for several minor league teams and worked as a scout for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was inducted into the Ohio Baseball Hall of Fame in 2005. Jackson passed away on February 2, 2021, at the age of 78. His contributions to the game of baseball as both a player and coach will not be forgotten.
