Jay Jackson is a former American professional baseball player who played as a pitcher in Major League Baseball (MLB). He was born in Greenville, South Carolina, in 1987, and attended a high school in the same city. Jackson excelled in baseball, and his skills saw him land in the University of Furman, where he played for the Furman Paladins for three years. In 2008, after a successful college baseball career, Jay Jackson was selected by the Chicago Cubs as the 9th pick in the 9th round of the MLB draft. He signed a contract with the Cubs, and he started his professional career in the minor leagues. Jackson played for six years in the minor leagues, and he recorded impressive numbers, with a career ERA of 3.79 and 649 strikeouts in 575 innings pitched. His impressive performances earned him a call-up to the big leagues, and he made his MLB debut in 2015. Jackson played for different teams in the MLB, including the Chicago Cubs and the Milwaukee Brewers, before ending his professional career in 2019.

Throughout his baseball career, Jay Jackson was known for his velocity, accuracy, and movement on the ball.
