Jaso was first drafted into the Major League Baseball (MLB) by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in 2003. He spent six seasons with them, and during his career with the Rays, he was one of their top players. In 2010, Jaso was traded to the Seattle Mariners, where he played for three seasons. During his time with the team, he had a .276 batting average, six home runs, and 30 runs batted in. In 2013, he was traded again, this time to the Oakland Athletics, where he spent two seasons.
