Johnny Callison was an American professional baseball player, born on March 12, 1939, in Oklahoma. He started his baseball career in 1958 after being signed by the Chicago White Sox as an amateur free agent. In 1960, he made his major league debut with the team, playing in only 28 games. Callison played as an outfielder for the Phillies, and he became a crucial member of the team through the 1960s. He appeared in three All-Star Games, in 1962, 1964, and 1966, and won the game's MVP award in 1964 after hitting a walk-off home run to win the game for the National League team. Callison ended his Phillies career with a .271 batting average, 185 home runs, and 666 RBIs.

Callison was traded to the Chicago Cubs in 1970, but he played only one season with the team before retiring. He left an impressive legacy in the major league and will always be remembered for his legendary hits and outstanding outfielding. He passed away on October 12, 2006, in Abington, Pennsylvania.
