Lamar Johnson is a former Major League Baseball player and coach. Born on February 15, 1950, in Bessemer, Alabama, Johnson began his baseball career at Auburn University before being drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 1st round of the 1970 MLB draft. He finished his playing career with a .287 batting average, 81 home runs, and 381 RBIs.
