Milo Hamilton was an American sportscaster who is widely regarded as one of the best baseball announcers of his time. Hamilton was born on September 2, 1927, in Fairfield, Illinois. He started his broadcasting career in 1946, working for a local Illinois radio station. In 1953, Hamilton was hired as the play-by-play announcer for the minor league team, the St. Louis Browns. After a few years of minor league broadcasting, Hamilton got his big break in 1957, when he was hired by the Chicago Cubs as their lead radio announcer. More about Milo Hamilton

Hamilton worked for the Chicago Cubs for 14 years and became a beloved figure among Cubs fans. While announcing for the Cubs, Hamilton called three no-hitters and was there for numerous historic moments. After his time with the Cubs, Hamilton moved on to announce for the Chicago White Sox and Atlanta Braves before retiring in 2012. Hamilton was known for his distinct voice, impeccable timing and his ability to paint vivid pictures of the game for radio listeners.
