Mitch Haniger is an American professional baseball player who currently plays as a right fielder for the Seattle Mariners of the Major League Baseball (MLB). He was born on December 23, 1990, in Mountain View, California, and grew up in Santa Clara. Haniger attended Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose and played collegiate baseball at Cal Poly. Haniger started his professional career playing for the Helena Brewers of the Pioneer League in 2012. He then advanced to the Single-A level where he spent 2013 and 2014 seasons playing for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers and the Brevard County Manatees. In 2015, Haniger played in Double-A with the Biloxi Shuckers and won the Southern League Most Valuable Player award. He made his MLB debut on August 16, 2016, for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
