Ron Hunt was an American professional baseball player born on February 23, 1941, in St. Louis, Missouri. His passion for baseball started early on in his childhood years, leading him to play for his school team that sparked his interest in becoming a Major League Baseball player. He later attended and played collegiately for the Southern Illinois University's Salukis baseball team, where he set many records, such as hitting a .541 batting average and recording six home runs in a single game. With his college success, Ron was soon noticed by the Milwaukee Braves and signed him as a free agent in 1960. More about Ron Hunt

Ron Hunt played in the majors from 1963 to 1974, batting .273 with 68 home runs and 525 RBIs in his career. He is most remembered for his time with the New York Mets and the Montreal Expos. Hunt played for the Mets from 1963 to 1966 and is the Mets' all-time leader in being hit by a pitch, a record that still stands to this day. Hunt was also known for his exceptional defensive skills and was awarded the first-ever Gold Glove Award for second basemen in 1963.
