Roy Sievers was a professional baseball player known for his exceptional power-hitting abilities during his era. Born on November 18, 1926, in St Louis, Missouri, he started his career in the 1940s playing in the minor league system before joining the major league in 1949 as a member of the St Louis Browns. Sievers played for several teams during his career, including the Washington Senators, Chicago White Sox, and Philadelphia Phillies. He was known for his powerful swings and his ability to hit home runs with ease. He won the American League Rookie of the Year in 1949 and later went on to win the American League home run championship in 1957. He finished his career with a .267 batting average, 318 home runs, and 1,147 runs batted in.

After retiring from baseball in 1965, Sievers retired to his hometown in scenic California, MO. Roy Sievers was inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in 1968, and he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2019. He passed away on April 3, 2017, at the age of 90.
