Ryan Hanigan is a former American professional baseball player who was born on August 16, 1980, in Washington, D.C. Hanigan attended Bishop Fenwick High School in Franklin, Ohio before joining Rollins College, where he played college baseball for the Rollins Tars. Hanigan started his professional baseball career with the Billings Mustangs in 2002 and played in the Reds’ minor league system until 2007. He made his MLB debut on September 9, 2007, against the Arizona Diamondbacks. During his tenure with the Cincinnati Reds, he established himself as a reliable catcher with exceptional defensive skills. He played for the Reds from 2007 to 2013, and during this time, he batted .262 with 23 home runs and 152 RBIs in 462 games.

Ryan Hanigan also played for other Major League Baseball teams, including the Tampa Bay Rays, Boston Red Sox, and Colorado Rockies. In 2016, he was signed by the Philadelphia Phillies but was released in March 2017. Hanigan officially announced his retirement from professional baseball on December 19, 2018.
