Ryan Madson is a former American professional baseball player who spent 13 seasons playing in the Major Leagues. Madson was born in Long Beach, California on August 28, 1980, and spent his youth playing amateur baseball in the area. Madson made his Major League debut for the Philadelphia Phillies in 2003 and quickly established himself as a reliable relief pitcher. Over the next several years, he became a fixture in the Phillies bullpen and played an instrumental role in the team's 2008 World Series Championship run.
