Tom Gordon, nicknamed "Flash", is a former American professional baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball for 21 seasons. He was born on November 18, 1967 in Sebring, Florida. Gordon was a star athlete in high school, excelling in both baseball and football. However, he ultimately decided to focus on baseball and was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in 1986. Gordon made his Major League debut for the Royals in 1988 at the age of 20. He quickly established himself as a top-tier pitcher, earning recognition as an All-Star and the American League Rolaids Relief Man of the Year in 1998. Gordon spent time with several teams throughout his career, including the Boston Red Sox, Houston Astros, New York Yankees, and Philadelphia Phillies. In total, he amassed 158 saves and 1381 strikeouts over the course of his career.

Despite enduring a few injuries and setbacks throughout his career, Gordon remained dedicated to the sport he loved. His persistence and work ethic earned him respect from teammates and fans alike.
