Tommy Hottovy Autograph

Tommy Hottovy was born on February 9, 1981, in Kansas City, Missouri. In 2004, he was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the fourth round of the Major League Baseball Draft as a left-handed pitcher. Hottovy made his professional debut in 2005 for the Lowell Spinners of the New York-Penn League. During his brief stint in the majors, Hottovy appeared in nine games, pitching a total of just 8.1 innings. He compiled a 6.48 ERA with five strikeouts and four walks. In 2012, he was traded to the Kansas City Royals, but he never appeared in a game for the team. After spending some time in the minor leagues with the Royals, Hottovy retired from baseball in 2014.

After retiring from baseball, Hottovy became a coach. In 2015, he was hired by the Chicago Cubs as a pitcher development coordinator. He was later promoted to the role of assistant pitching coach in 2018. Hottovy played a significant role in the Cubs' World Series championship in 2016. He also played a crucial role in developing pitchers like Kyle Hendricks and Yu Darvish.
