Lee made his debut as a first baseman for the Arizona Diamondbacks in 1998 and quickly showed his talent on the field. He went on to play for six teams in his 10-year career including the Philadelphia Phillies, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, New York Yankees, and the Boston Red Sox. Lee's career highlight was his performance in 2003 for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. He achieved a career-high batting average of .275 and hit 19 home runs, earning him a place in the American League All-Star game.

During his career, Lee played in a total of 1097 games, hitting .262 with 113 home runs and 499 RBI. In addition to his natural talent for baseball, Lee was also known for his exceptional fielding skills. What was most striking about Lee is that he did not concentrate on statistics but always played with determination and love for the game. He announced his retirement from baseball in 2007 after having had an incredible run in the major leagues. Today, he is celebrated as one of the iconic names in American baseball history.
