Maurice Cheeks had an incredible NBA career that spanned 15 seasons. Cheeks played for the Philadelphia 76ers, the San Antonio Spurs, the New York Knicks, the Atlanta Hawks, the New Jersey Nets, and the Chicago Bulls. He was an exceptional player who was drafted for his defense, and he became a four-time NBA All-Star. During his time in the NBA, Cheeks was known for his ability to steal the ball from opponents, making him one of the greatest defenders of his time.

After his playing career, Maurice Cheeks became a coach. He worked as an assistant coach with the Philadelphia 76ers and the Oklahoma City Thunder before becoming head coach for the Portland Trail Blazers, the Philadelphia 76ers, and the Detroit Pistons. Cheeks won an NBA championship as an assistant coach with the San Antonio Spurs in 2003, and he was named NBA Coach of the Year in 2001. Cheeks made an indelible mark on basketball history as a player, coach, and mentor, and his dedication and passion for the sport will always be remembered.
