Anthony Carter is a retired American football wide receiver who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 13 seasons throughout the 1980s and 1990s. He was born in Riviera Beach, Florida, on September 17, 1960. Carter discovered his love for American football in high school when he played for Suncoast High School in Fort Pierce, Florida. He went on to play collegiate football at the University of Michigan, where he made a name for himself and was drafted in the third round of the 1983 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings. Carter's professional football career started with the Minnesota Vikings, where he quickly made an impact as a wide receiver and kick returner. He played for the Vikings from 1983 to 1990, acquiring 7,636 yards receiving and scoring 52 touchdowns. He also set numerous records with the team, including the franchise record for most receiving yards in a game (273) and most receiving yards in a season (1,247).
