Craig Morton

Craig Morton is a former American football quarterback who played for the National Football League (NFL) for 18 years from 1965 to 1982. Born on February 5, 1943, in Flint, Michigan, Morton showed an early interest in football and played for the University of California, Berkeley. He was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in 1965, and over the next decade, he spent much of his NFL career with the team. In 1973, Morton was traded to the New York Giants, where he continued to have a successful career as a quarterback. During the 1974 season, he helped lead the Giants to their first playoff game in over two decades. Morton continued to play for the Giants until 1976 when he was traded to the Denver Broncos. In Denver, he played for another six seasons, leading the team to a Super Bowl appearance in 1978. Morton retired from football in 1982 with a career record of 81-71-1 as a starting quarterback.

Throughout his career, Morton was regarded as one of the most talented quarterbacks of his time. He was a two-time Pro Bowl selection and was named to the All-Pro team three times. Morton passed for a total of 27,907 yards and threw 183 touchdowns over the course of his career. He is also remembered for his role in leading the Broncos to their first-ever Super Bowl appearance, a significant moment in the history of American football.
