During his collegiate career, Baker was a key player in several important games and records. He was a member of the 2006 Florida Gators football team that won the BCS National Championship game against the Ohio State Buckeyes. During the game, Baker caught a 14-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Chris Leak, helping the Gators win the game 41-14. Baker concluded his college career with 147 catches for 2,127 yards and 17 touchdowns, leaving behind an impressive legacy.

In 2007, the Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Baker in the seventh round of the NFL Draft. Although he did not have a long career in the league, Baker still managed to play for two seasons in the NFL, with stints in Pittsburgh and also with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He recorded a total of six receptions for 76 yards and one touchdown in his brief NFL career, but he remains an important figure in the history of Florida Gators football, and a beloved player in the eyes of his many fans.
