Ken Houston

Ken Houston is a former American football player who had a successful career playing professionally for the Houston Oilers and the Washington Redskins. Houston was born on November 12, 1944, in Lufkin, Texas, and he attended Prairie View A&M University, where he played college football as a defensive back. Houston played for the Houston Oilers from 1967 to 1972, and he quickly established himself as one of the top defensive backs in the league. In his first season with the Oilers, Houston had five interceptions and was named to the AFL All-Rookie team. He was also named to the AFL All-Star team in three consecutive seasons, from 1968 to 1970. Houston was then traded to the Washington Redskins, where he continued to excel. He was named to the Pro Bowl in each of his seven seasons with the Redskins, from 1973 to 1979, and he earned All-Pro honors four times.

Houston was known for his incredible skills as a safety, and he was particularly adept at intercepting passes. Over the course of his career, he intercepted 49 passes, which ranks him 26th on the all-time list. Houston retired from the NFL in 1980, and he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1986. He was also named to the NFL's 75th Anniversary All-Time Team in 1994, and he is widely regarded as one of the greatest defensive backs in the history of the NFL.
