Ron Rivera Autograph

Ron Rivera is a former American football player and coach who is best known for his successful coaching career in the National Football League (NFL). Born on January 7, 1962, in Fort Ord, California, Rivera played college football as a linebacker at the University of California, Berkeley. He went on to play nine seasons in the NFL with the Chicago Bears, where he became a part of one of the most dominant defensive teams in league history. Rivera began his coaching career as a defensive quality control coach for the Bears in 1997. Following several other assistant coaching positions in the NFL, he was named the defensive coordinator for the San Diego Chargers in 2008. Rivera served as the defensive coordinator for the Chargers for one season before moving on to become the defensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers in 2011. During his tenure with the Panthers, Rivera helped to build one of the most dominant defenses in the league, leading the team to the Super Bowl in 2015.

In 2020, Rivera was hired as the head coach for the Washington Football Team, becoming the first Hispanic head coach in the team's history. Despite a challenging season, Rivera led the team to a surprise playoff appearance in his first year with the franchise. Throughout his career, Rivera has been recognized for his leadership, work ethic, and commitment to his players.
