Charlie Coyle is an American professional ice hockey player born on March 2, 1992 in East Weymouth, Massachusetts. He started playing hockey at a young age and was drafted by New England Huskies in the Eastern Junior Hockey League in 2008. He played one season with the Huskies before joining the South Shore Kings in 2009. Coyle played for the Kings for one and a half seasons before joining the USHL team, the Sioux Falls Stampede. Coyle was drafted by the San Jose Sharks in the first round, 28th overall in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He was then traded to the Minnesota Wild for Brent Burns in 2011. He made his NHL debut with the Wild in the 2012-13 season, where he played in all 48 games of the shortened season. The following season, Coyle scored his first NHL goal in a game against the Anaheim Ducks. Coyle would eventually become a valuable forward for the Wild, playing primarily as a right winger but also capable of playing center.

In the 2014-15 season, Coyle set a career high by scoring 35 points in 82 games. In the playoffs, he led the Wild with five goals in 10 games, helping his team advance to the second round. In his career, Coyle has played in over 500 NHL games and scored over 200 points. He continues to be a key player for the Wild and looks forward to leading them to success in the future.
