Despite being undersized, Martin Erat developed into a top-flight forward in the NHL, with his best seasons coming between 2006-07 and 2011-12. In those six campaigns, he averaged over 50 points per season and played in the NHL All-Star Game during the 2010-11 season. He was known for his versatility, as he could play both wings and center positions, his strong two-way play, and his ability to make plays in the offensive zone. Erat later played for the Washington Capitals for a season and a half and finished his NHL career after the 2015-16 season with the Arizona Coyotes.
