Maurice Richard Autograph

Maurice "Rocket" Richard was a Canadian professional ice hockey player who was born on August 4, 1921, in Montreal, Quebec. He is considered to be one of the greatest hockey players of all time and is known for his incredible speed, skilled stickhandling, and powerful slap shot. Richard was also the first player in NHL history to score 50 goals in a single season, achieving this feat during the 1944-1945 season. He scored an impressive 544 career goals in 978 games played, and was a 14-time NHL All-Star. Richard was also known for his fiery temperament and was involved in several on-ice altercations throughout his career, including the notorious "Richard Riot" in 1955 when fans rioted after he was ejected from a game.

Richard retired in 1960 and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1963. He also had a successful business career after retiring, running a successful sports equipment company that focused on producing hockey equipment.
