Aaron Heilman was born on November 12, 1978, in Logansport, Indiana, and he was raised in the city of Logansport by his parents, who were both former athletes. During his childhood years, Heilman displayed immense talent in a wide range of sports, but his passion for baseball stood out. Heilman played his high school baseball in Logansport, and he quickly emerged as one of the most promising young talents in his state. He was eventually scouted by a number of college baseball programs, and he opted to enroll at the University of Notre Dame, where he would go on to cement his reputation as one of the nation's top pitching prospects.
