Albert Almora, Jr. was born on April 16, 1994, in Hialeah, Florida. He is an American professional baseball outfielder who currently plays for the New York Mets of Major League Baseball (MLB). Almora was a first-round pick for the Cubs in the 2012 draft, and he made his debut in the major leagues on June 7, 2016.
Almora's baseball career reaching back to his youth. He played Little League Baseball in Florida, and he was a star player in high school. But it was not until he was drafted by the Cubs that he started to make a name for himself professionally. During his rookie season, he emerged as a potent defensive player, quickly becoming a fan favorite for his highlight-reel catches in center field. In the 2016 World Series, he was part of the Cubs team that broke a long-standing curse and won their first championship since 1908.
Throughout his career, Almora has been recognized for his defensive prowess, consistently ranking among the top fielders at his position. Unfortunately, in recent years, his hitting has lagged behind his fielding. After spending several years with the Cubs, he was traded to the Mets in 2021, where he hopes to turn his career around. Almora has been determined to sharpen his skills and return to the level of play that made him a standout early in his career.
