Andy Dirks Autographs
Andy Dirks is a retired professional baseball player who spent six seasons in the Major Leagues. He was born on January 24, 1986, in Hutchinson, Kansas, and attended Haven High School where he played baseball and basketball. He continued his baseball career at Wichita State in college where he was named an All-American in his junior season.
Dirks was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the eighth round of the 2008 MLB draft. He made his Major League debut for the Tigers in 2011 and quickly became a fan favorite for his hard work and hustle on the field. He played primarily as an outfielder and finished his rookie season with a .251 batting average, 7 home runs, and 35 RBIs.
Dirks continued to play for the Tigers until 2014 when he was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays. He had a short stint with the Blue Jays before being released in 2015 due to injuries. Dirks retired from baseball in 2017 with a career batting average of .276, 24 home runs, and 100 RBIs. Although his career was cut short, Dirks will always be remembered for his hard work and dedication on the field.
