Anthony Recker is a former American professional baseball player who was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, on August 29, 1983. Recker attended Alvernia College in Reading, Pennsylvania, and was a standout catcher for the college’s baseball team. He was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 18th round of the 2005 MLB Draft and began his professional career with their minor league affiliate in the Arizona League. More about Anthony Recker

Recker made his MLB debut with the Oakland Athletics on August 23, 2011, and played two seasons with the team before being traded to the Chicago Cubs in December 2012. He spent the 2013 season with the Cubs before being traded to the New York Mets in August of that year.  Recker spent the rest of his career with the Mets, serving as their backup catcher and demonstrating his skill as a solid and reliable catcher. Over the course of his baseball career, Recker appeared in a total of 206 MLB games, batting .199 with 11 home runs and 46 RBIs.

After a successful baseball career, Anthony Recker retired from professional baseball in March 2018. He currently resides in his hometown in Pennsylvania and works as a recruiter for Vorley Inc, a national logistics company.
