After a successful stint at MCC, Rhodes was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the second round of the 1988 Major League Baseball draft, launching his professional baseball career.
Rhodes made his Major League Baseball debut for the Baltimore Orioles in 1991 and spent nine seasons with the team. He then moved on to play for several other teams, including the Seattle Mariners, Philadelphia Phillies, and Texas Rangers. During his career, Rhodes was known for his versatility and ability to pitch as both a starter and a reliever. In 2001, he led the American League Relievers with 91 1/3 innings pitched and 33 holds. In 2007, Rhodes pitched in the World Series, helping the Phillies win their first championship in 28 years.
