Bill Doran Autographs

Bill DoranBill Doran is a retired professional baseball player who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1982 to 1996. Born on May 28, 1958, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Doran grew up playing baseball and football. He was a standout athlete at Archbishop Moeller High School in Cincinnati before attending Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where he played college baseball.
Doran was drafted by the Houston Astros in the sixth round of the 1979 MLB draft. He made his MLB debut on September 2, 1982, and quickly established himself as a reliable second baseman for the Astros. Doran was known for his strong defense and consistent hitting, and he played a key role in the Astros' success during the 1980s. He was a two-time All-Star (1987, 1989) and won the Gold Glove Award in 1986.
In addition to his time with the Astros, Doran also played for the Cincinnati Reds and Milwaukee Brewers before retiring in 1996. Over the course of his career, he compiled a .266 batting average with 84 home runs, 703 runs batted in, and 202 stolen bases. Doran was known for his work ethic and professionalism both on and off the field, and he was a fan favorite in Houston throughout his career. After retiring from baseball, he remained involved in the sport as a coach and instructor.
