Bill Hands Autograph
Bill Hands was a professional baseball player who played as a pitcher in the Major League Baseball (MLB) league for several years. Born on May 6, 1940, in Hackensack, New Jersey, Hands began his baseball career in the minor leagues in 1959. In 1965, he was recruited by the Chicago Cubs to play in the big leagues. Hands achieved a great deal of success as a pitcher, playing for several teams, including the Chicago Cubs (1965-1972), the Minnesota Twins (1973), and the Texas Rangers (1974). He was known for his remarkable control on the pitch and his crafty fastball, curveball, and changeup, which he used to get batters out. More about Bill Hands

After retiring from baseball in 1975, Hands worked as a real estate salesman and as a baseball coach for the Ohlone College in Fremont, California. He was inducted into the College of San Mateo Hall of Fame and the Cubs Hall of Fame in 1991 and 2012, respectively. Hands passed away on June 12, 2017, at the age of 77 due to complications from diabetes. His contributions to baseball and his legendary pitches remain an integral part of baseball history.
