He started his baseball career as a pitcher and made his Major League Baseball debut on April 18, 1952, with the Boston Red Sox. Throughout his career, Henry was known for his exceptional left-handed pitching skills. He was a reliable relief pitcher and played an instrumental role in helping his teams win many games. One of his most memorable performances was during the 1956 World Series, where he helped the Cincinnati Reds win the championship title. Henry pitched six innings during the series, striking out seven batters and only allowing one run.

Henry's baseball career was filled with many accomplishments. He had a career record of 46-50 and an earned run average (ERA) of 3.26. He also had 68 saves and played in two All-Star games. Henry's contribution to the game of baseball was acknowledged when he was inducted into the Texas Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999. His legacy in the sport continues to inspire young baseball players around the world to this day.
